Terms and Conditions
1) Disclaimer
We, Couple a' Tools®, Will not be liable for any loss or damage that may arise from any information provided. The comprehensive limitation of liability applies to all damages of any kind, including without limitation compensatory, direct, indirect, or consequential damages, income or profit, loss of or damage to property and claims of third parties. Any information provided is for guide purposes only. We reserve the right to update our terms and conditions without prior notice.
2) Availability
Available dates given verbally or written are valid for 24 hours until a booking has been confirmed.
3) Cancellations
Cancellations of pre-booked dates can be made up to 7 days before agreed commence date. If a deposit has not been taken, cancellations made less than 7 days will be subject to a £50 cancellation fee unless otherwise arranged.
4) Deposits & Payments
We take a minimum 50% deposit before work commences. This amount will be shown on your quotation. Deposits to be made no less than 14 days before work starts to avoid delay or disappointment unless otherwise arranged. Balance to be paid on completion and no later than 24 hours after works are complete unless otherwise arranged. If deposit is not made on time and/or no correspondence has been made, any booked dates will be invalid. Additional work requested by client maybe added to current invoice during a project & if accepted, an additional payment will be requested. This maybe invoiced separately (please also see timescale below). Refunds on deposits can only be accepted up to 7 days before commence date. Please allow up to 28 days for any refund. Title of goods purchased belong to Couple a' Tools® until final payment has cleared. We reserve the right to remove any items from a property if final payment has not been made. This will be carried out under Police supervision if we require to gain access to a property. We will not be held responsible for any damage caused in the removal of any goods.
5) Payments by Cheque
From January 2012, we no longer accept payments via cheque.
6) Payments by Bank Transfer (BACS)
Bank details available on request.
7) Payments Via Card
We are authorised by SquareUp Europe Ltd, part of the Financial Conduct Authority, to accept chip & pin payments via Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, Debit & Electron since January 2012. Any transactions will show on your statement as Couple a' Tools. We reserve the right to decline any payment via chip & pin. We do not accept manual transactions & so a visit to the premisis is always required for security reasons. If you wish to pay by card, please advise us at time of booking. There is no additional charge for using this service.
8) Guarantees, Warranties & Insurance
We offer a minimum one year guarantee on fitting once work is completed and full payment is received. Please contact us should you wish to extend this. Guarantee does not cover general wear & tear, missuse of products or alterations made or requested by the customer, change in ownership, tampered with by client or third party trade or an act of God. If we have purchased products with a manufacturer warranty, this will be passed to you. Replacement of goods/parts outwith our guarantee will be chargeable. All our work is fully insured up to £1,000,000. Current documents can be shown upon request.
9) Timescale
An estimated timescale will be given with any quotation. Please note that this is an estimate & although we generally over estimate the timescale to avoid disappointment, on rare occasion work can lapse over dead line due to unforeseen circumstances. We do aim to complete work on or before final date. Additional work can be added at any time but may require to be scheduled for another date and so will be charged separately from original invoice. Our normal work week is Monday to Friday, approximately 9am to 4pm on site. In most cases, we do not work weekends unless specificity arranged. We do work most Bank holidays & there is no additional charge for this.
10) Insurance Work
We will only carry out Insurance work if your Insurance provider pays you directly. No booking can take place until proof of payment from your Insurance provider to you has been shown. There is a £150 charge for any insurance quotation which must be paid on or before survey. This amount will be deducted from the final invoice after works are complete. Immediate payment is required upon completion of works.
11) Damages, Safety, Cleaning & Waste Management
Damages: Though we will be as careful as we can within your property, accidental damages & collateral damages can happen. Where possible, we may fix or repair minimum damages such as scuffs, marks or movement cracks. We have insurance in place should it be required for any larger damages caused by water or fire for example. We advise you to remove anything of value to a safe space away from the area of work for your own peace of mind. This includes electrical equipment, furniture, pictures or ornaments.
Saftey: We keep our work area as clean and as tidy as possible for your Saftey and ours. We advise if possible to remain clear of the work area until works have been completed. We may use heavy & loud equipment as well as corrosive or dangerous materials. Where required, we wear PPE for the protection of ears, eyes, respiratory, hands, knees & feet. Unfortunately, we cannot offer this equipment to you for the risk of cross contamination.
Cleaning: We do our upmost to keep our work area as clean as possible & a general clean will be carried out at the end of each day. Fine dust particles may take several days to settle & so would advise you to clean no earlier than 48 hours after works have been completed. We may continue to use extractors throughout the project to minimise the amount of cleaning required by the client. We will not be liable for any cleaning of fabrics or equipment owned by the client so again, we would advise you to remove from work area prior to any work carried out.
Waste Management: All waste relevant to the job will be stored somewhere safe on-site until collected by a SEPA registered carrier.
12) Photographs, Audio & Videos
a) Photographs, audio & videos may be taken of any work undertaken and or tools used, methods or surroundings. These images will be used as a portfolio of our work for new clientèle. They may also be used on our website, third party website or social media. b) Permission must be granted by the owner Couple a’ Tools or by tagging the author on social media for reuse of photographs, audio & videos for non profit. Photographs, audio & videos may be purchased by third party for personal profit, gain or reward. c) On occasion, a third party photographer, videographer or representative may be used on site to promote our work of products used.
